Katie Miller is no stranger to the national stage. She has played in numerous large-scale amateur events conducted by the USGA and has proven she can play with the best.
Her latest venture in that arena? So far, so good.
Miller, a Hempfield and North Carolina graduate, moved into the Round of 32 at the U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur at Forest Highlands Golf Club in Flagstaff, Ariz.
After tying for 39th in stroke play at 7-over-par 151 (79-72), Miller opened match play with a 5 and 3 victory over Amanda Jacobs of Portland, Ore.
She next will take on Mallory Hetzel of Virginia Beach, Va.
