Pittsburgh Pirates catcher Jason Kendall, seen in 2000, held the honor of having the franchise’s largest contract until he was surpassed by Ke’Bryan Hayes and Bryan Reynolds in recent years.

Outfielder Bryan Reynolds’ eight-year, $106.75 million contract became the largest in Pittsburgh Pirates history, far surpassing the eight-year, $70 million extension given to infielder Ke’Bryan Hayes in 2022.

Here’s a look at the largest contracts (total value) handed out by the Pirates:

Eight-year, $106.75 million extension in 2023
