Hounds fall to Portland in Jägermeister Cup group play

The Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC dropped a decision to Portland Hearts of Pine in penalty kicks Friday night in Jägermeister Cup group play in Maine.

After playing to a 2-2 draw in regulation, Portland held a 5-4 advantage in the shootout to earn the bonus point.

Bertin Jacquesson scored twice for the Hounds, who fell to 9-10-4 overall.

Both teams finished Jägermeister Cup group play with a 1-2-1 record, and neither advanced from Group 4.

The Hounds (6-6-4) return to USL Championship Eastern Conference play at 7 p.m. Tuesday against Miami FC (5-8-3) at Highmark Stadium. It will be televised on ESPN2.
