How to watch/listen to Pirates Opening Day game
Hard to believe, but baseball’s finally back.
The Pittsburgh Pirates will kick off the season — yep, it’s a normal one too, we checked — with an Opening Day game today against the Chicago Cubs in the Windy City.
First pitch is set for 2:20 p.m. (Pittsburgh time). If you want to keep up with the game, you’ve got several options.
Watch it
Pirates games will be aired on AT&T SportsNet Pittsburgh, with some also on MLB Network (out of market only) and some nationally televised on ESPN, Fox or Fox Sports 1.
If you don’t have cable, there are a few options for you. FuboTV offers a “Starter” bundle for $64.99 per month and includes AT&T SportsNet Pittsburgh, ESPN, Fox, Fox Sports 1 (along with 110 other channels). There is a seven-day free trial available. FuboTV lets you watch the games live or watch afterward with its 72-hour lookback option.
Other online options include HuluLive and YouTube TV. But, again, subscriptions are required — both are also $64.99 per month.
Listen to it
If you are just trying to listen to the game, you can go old-school and flip on the radio. All 162 games this season will be broadcast on the Pirates Radio Network, which is pretty vast and available on more than 30 stations, including SportsRadio 93.7 The Fan or 100.1 FM/KDKA-AM 1020 in the Pittsburgh area and on various stations in Western Pennsylvania. SportsRadio 93.7 The Fan will also carry pre-game and post-game coverage.
