Steelers favored in 10 of 16 games in preseason betting lines

A look at the Pittsburgh Steelers offensive line against the Baltimore Ravens defensive line during last season’s finale Dec. 29. The Ravens are preseason favorites in both scheduled games against the Steelers in 2020, including as the only road team against which the Steelers are projected as an underdog.

It’s almost five months in advance of when the NFL season is supposed to begin, if it begins at all with the nation battling the novel coronavirus. But already, sportsbooks allow patrons to bet each of the season’s games.

While the schedule by date has not been released, wagering on Pittsburgh Steelers games from Week 1 through Week 17 is available at BetOnline.ag. And judging by the lines set for those games, the Steelers in theory are projected to go 10-6.

The Steelers are favored in 10 of their 16 games, including seven of the eight scheduled to be played at home. The games in which they are favored the most are hosting the Washington Redskins (the Steelers are giving 10 points) and the Cincinnati Bengals (the Steelers are favored by 9½).

The only home game the Steelers aren’t preseason favorites for is the one against defending AFC North champion Baltimore. The Steelers are 2½-point underdogs to the Ravens at home and touchdown underdogs for the scheduled game in Baltimore.

The only road games the Steelers are favored in are against the Bengals (four points), the Jacksonville Jaguars (six points) and New York Giants (2½ points).
