The practice week didn’t get off to a good start for free safety Minkah Fitzpatrick, who did not participate Wednesday as the Pittsburgh Steelers began on-field preparations for their game Sunday at Seattle.

Fitzpatrick missed the Steelers’ 34-11 victory against Cincinnati with a knee injury he sustained a week earlier at Indianapolis.

Fitzpatrick has two more chances to practice this week before the Steelers depart for the Pacific Northwest. In his absence last week, the Steelers started converted corner Patrick Peterson and newcomer Eric Rowe at the two safety spots.

Quarterback Kenny Pickett was limited with a knee injury. He was limited in each practice last week in his first on-field work since undergoing ankle surgery. Safety Trenton Thompson (stinger) also was limited in practice.

Not practicing Wednesday were running back Najee Harris (knee), guard Isaac Seumalo (shoulder), inside linebacker Elandon Roberts (pectoral) and Fitzpatrick.
