Injured Steelers starting offensive linemen Trai Turner, Dan Moore miss practice
Two Pittsburgh Steelers starting offensive linemen did not take part in the first practice of the week in preparation for the final game of the regular season.
Left tackle Dan Moore Jr. and right guard Trai Turner were absent from practice Wednesday because of ankle and knee injuries, respectively. Turner left this past Monday’s game early because of injury, and coach Mike Tomlin on Tuesday referenced Moore’s ailment.
Combined with center Kendrick Green — who did not play Monday because of a calf injury — the Steelers potentially could have a re-worked offensive line for Sunday’s game at the Baltimore Ravens. On the league-mandated injury report, Green was listed as a limited practice participant Wednesday.
The only other player to miss practice because of injury was rookie reserve linebacker Buddy Johnson, who has missed the past three games because of a foot injury.
Starting strong safety Terrell Edmunds was limited Wednesday because of a groin injury.
In what could be the final Wednesday practice of his career, quarterback Ben Roethlisberger took part in a limited basis. Roethlisberger has sat out most Wednesday practices in recent seasons.
