Pittsburgh Steelers center Mason Cole (No. 61, right) readies to snap the ball to quarterback Kenny Pickett early during this past Sunday’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals at Acrisure Stadium. Cole did not finish the game because of a foot injury.

Each of the three players who did not finish this past Sunday’s game because of injury did not practice for the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday.

Starting center Mason Cole, third-down running back Jaylen Warren and special-teamer/No. 5 receiver Miles Boykin sat out the Thanksgiving late-morning practice at UPMC Rooney Sports Complex, according to the league-mandated injury report.

Warren suffered a hamstring injury during the first quarter of Sunday’s 37-30 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. Boykin suffered an oblique injury, and Cole aggravated a foot injury during the first half of that game.

During his weekly news conference Tuesday, coach Mike Tomlin expressed confidence that none of those three — with the possible exception of Boykin — would be prevented from playing in Monday night’s scheduled game at the Indianapolis Colts.

Wednesday’s practice did not have an injury report because of the “bonus day” associated with an upcoming Monday game.

Also sitting out Thursday’s practice because of a hamstring injury was cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon, who has not played a full game since Week 2. Taking a “veteran’s day off” as bequeathed by Tomlin were outside linebacker T.J. Watt and defensive linemen Cameron Heyward and Larry Ogunjobi.

Tomlin typically moves practice up a couple of hours on Thanksgiving to release his players and staff early to celebrate the holiday.
