IUP men's basketball team rises to No. 3 in national poll
Wins over Slippery Rock and Gannon in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference play last week has the Indiana University of Pennsylvania men’s basketball team up to No. 3 in the latest National Association of Basketball Coaches Division II Coaches’ Poll released Tuesday.
The Crimson Hawks (21-2) also were aided with losses by the second-, third- and fourth-ranked teams.
IUP dipped to No. 6 last week after being ranked in the top five in the first nine polls of the season.
Northwest Missouri State (23-0) remained at No. 1, while IUP’s Atlantic Region rival, West Liberty (19-2), moved up three spots to No. 2.
The remainder of the top five has Nova Southeastern (19-2) at No. 4 and West Texas A&M (23-3) at No. 5.
The Crimson Hawks remain the only PSAC school in the top 25.
