Torbett previously coached at East Carolina in the American Athletic Conference where she led the Pirates to 109 victories in seven seasons (2013-19).

She also coached at Winthrop (2011-12) and North Carolina-Asheville (1994-2010). She was Big South Coach of the Year in 2002 and ‘09.

Torbett has 447 career victories, 41st among active Division I coaches, with 304 coming at UNC-Asheville.
