The college golf season was cut short by coronavirus restrictions, but IUP coach Dan Braun continues to clean up with postseason awards.

A small but impressive body of work in 2019-20 has garnered Braun the Atlantic Region Coach of the Year.

The award was announced by the Golf Coaches Association of American and is presented by Golf Pride Grips.

Braun also was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Coach of the Year.

IUP won three of the tournaments it played, including the PSAC championship. The NCAA canceled the rest of the spring portion of the season in March.

The Division II Atlantic Region top-ranked Crimson Hawks also won the Mercyhurst Fall Invitational and Davis & Elkins Showshoe Invitational.

Since taking over the program last spring, Braun has led IUP to five wins in nine tournaments.

Three of his top players — senior Jeremy Eckenrode, sophomore Jack Buccigross and freshman Shaun Fedor — were tabbed as PING Division II All-Atlantic Region selections.
