While rumors and social media posts claimed otherwise, Terrelle Pryor was not released by the Jacksonville Jaguars on Saturday as NFL teams trimmed rosters to 53 players.

Instead, the veteran wide receiver from Jeannette was added to the team’s reserve/injured list.

Pryor has been struggling with a hamstring injury that limited his reps in training camp and his playing time in the preseason.

He had three catches in as many preseason games, all at Miami.

Pryor, 30, played for the Buffalo Bills and New York Jets last season and had a total of 16 receptions for 252 yards and two touchdowns in eight games.

He played for the Washington Redskins the previous year and had 20 catches for 240 yards and two TDs.

A former dual-threat quarterback out of Ohio State, Pryor’s best season as a receiver came in 2016 when he was with the Cleveland Browns. That season, he had 77 receptions for 1,007 yards and four scores.

Another Jeannette graduate, Demetrious Cox, was released by the Cincinnati Bengals. The defensive back signed a reserve/futures contract with the Bengals in December, but did not make the 53-man roster.

Cox was with the Bengals practice squad last year, a role he could reprise if invited back.
