Jeannette alum Robert Kennedy hopes to be proof that a JUCO product can make it to the next level.

The Lackawanna sophomore defensive back could be on his way.

Kennedy continued to produce in the Falcons’ secondary, intercepting two more passes and returning one for a touchdown in a 48-18 victory over Nassau Community College.

The performance earned him Northeast Conference (junior college) athlete of the week honors.

The 5-foot-10, 185-pound Kennedy also had five tackles and a forced fumble in the win. His pick-six covered 35 yards.

He has five interceptions on the season for Lackawanna (8-0), which is averaging 44.9 points per game and is fourth in the national JUCO rankings.

Kennedy has a Division I-FBS offer from Massachusetts.

He also has FCS offers from Sacred Heart, St. Francis (Pa.), Albany, Duquesne and Robert Morris.

Another thing that is interesting about Kennedy: He has not lost in 26 consecutive games dating back to his high school career. Lackawanna has won 20 in a row.
