A jersey worn by Hall of Fame cornerback Rod Woodson during the 1993 season, when he was named the NFL’s defensive player of the year, is available to purchase via auction.

Woodson’s black No. 26 home jersey is part of the Summer Classic collection at auction house Lelands.com.

The game-worn jersey has been photo-matched to several games from Woodson’s memorable season with the Pittsburgh Steelers, including the Oct. 17, 1993 game against New Orleans. In that game, Woodson had two interceptions, one of which he returned 63 yards for a touchdown.

The item includes a letter of authenticity from the Steelers and is signed by team president Art Rooney II.

Bidding continues through Sunday night. The auction began with a minimum $2,000 bid for the Woodson jersey and already has reached a high bid of $10,618.

Woodson played for the Steelers from 1987-96 and was named to the Pro Bowl 11 times in his 17-year career. He also was a first-team All-Pro pick on six occasions. When he was named to the All-Pro team in 1993, it was his fourth time being honored.

After leaving the Steelers, Woodson eventually transitioned to the free safety position. He finished with 71 career interceptions, a record 12 of which he returned for touchdowns. He was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2009.
