Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster runs a pass route as New England Patriots defensive back J.C. Jackson, left, gives chase in the second half of an NFL football game, Sunday, Sept. 8, 2019, in Foxborough, Mass.

The Pittsburgh Steelers began getting many of their injured players back for a full practice Thursday.

Six players who were limited in practice on Wednesday were full participants for the second workout of the week: wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster (toe), safety Sean Davis (ankle), running back James Conner (illness), safety Terrell Edmunds (glute), tackle Zach Banner (illness) and linebacker T.J. Watt (hip).

For Davis, it was his first full participation in practice since prior to the Week 3 preseason game when he sustained an ankle contusion.

Center Maurkice Pouncey (ankle), fullback Roosevelt Nix and cornerback Joe Haden (shoulder) did not practice for the second day in a row.

Defensive coordinator Keith Butler said his unit may be at full strength Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks in spite of Haden’s lack of practice this week.

“I think they will be OK at the end of the week,” Butler said. “I’m still hoping for Joe. I am not sure what’s going on with him, his shoulder and stuff like that. But he tells me he’s gonna be ready to play.”

Ben Roethlisberger returned to practice after being rested Wednesday. Getting the veteran day off treatment Thursday were guard Ramon Foster and linebacker Mark Barron.
