Kenny Pickett remains limited; Minkah Fitzpatrick out of Steelers practice
In regards to their No. 1 quarterback and All-Pro safety, it remained status quo at Pittsburgh Steelers practice Thursday.
Like he was throughout last week and during the first practice of this week Wednesday, Kenny Pickett was listed as a limited participant on the injury report Thursday. Pickett has missed the past three games as he recovers from ankle surgery, and Mason Rudolph is in line to make his second consecutive start at quarterback.
Optimism that safety Minkah Fitzpatrick might return after a one-game absence because of a knee injury waned when Fitzpatrick did not practice Thursday. The Steelers will practice one more time Friday before the official status report is released in advance of Sunday’s game at the Seattle Seahawks.
The Steelers appear to be getting at least one safety back from injury, however. Trenton Thompson practiced fully Thursday, an indication he could play against the Seahawks after missing last week’s win against the Cincinnati Bengals because of a neck injury.
Running back Najee Harris (knee) was a limited participant Thursday, and starting left guard Isaac Seumalo (shoulder) practiced fully. Both are expected to play in Seattle.
Coach Mike Tomlin on Tuesday said starting inside linebacker Elandon Roberts would miss Sunday’s game because of a pectoral injury.
