Robert Kennedy knew there were no guarantees when he took the junior college route.

The former Jeannette star quarterback and defensive back — Mr. PA Football for small schools in 2018 — decided to play at Lackawanna. The plan was to be patient, work on his game, get stronger physically and mentally, with this end game: remind Division I programs of his presence.

So far, so good.

Kennedy, in his second year at Lackawanna in Scranton, has pulled in three more D-I scholarship offers.

FBS Massachusetts, along with St. Francis (Pa.) and Sacred Heart, both FCS programs, came calling this week after Kennedy showed his defensive skills in the Falcons’ 83-0 win over Erie Community College.

He also has offers from Albany, Duquesne and Robert Morris.

Kennedy, 5-foot-10, 185-pound sophomore defensive back, is averaging four tackles a game and has two forced fumbles and two sacks for Lackawanna (4-0).
