Latrobe alum Robin Reilly joins Pittsburgh Riveters women's soccer team
Former Latrobe soccer standout Robin Reilly is joining the new Pittsburgh Riveters women’s pre-professional soccer team.
Reilly, a high school All-American who graduated early and is now a freshman at West Virginia, came up in the Riverhounds Development Academy.
The Riveters will play in the USL W League with its first game in May.
Reilly, a midfielder, is the Latrobe girls’ all-time leader in goals (61) and assists (44). Last season, she had 14 goals and 10 assists and earned all-state and All-WPIAL honors while also being a finalist for the Moe Rosensteel Award for the WPIAL’s best player.
Reilly is a two-time ECNL All-Ohio Valley Conference player and was named to the Olympic Development Program National Team in 2022 and ’23.
“Robin is a player that epitomizes the pathway of our Academy,” Riveters coach Scott Gibson said in a news release. “Robin is an excellent forward player who is very good in 1 v. 1 situations, and she will provide energy and a youthfulness to the team.”
