Latrobe grad Jake Biss wins Shippensburg athlete of the year honors
Latrobe graduate Jake Biss has been named Shippensburg’s male student-athlete of the year.
A junior point guard, Biss led the Raiders with 15.9 points per game and was fourth in the PSAC with 4.4 assists per game. He shot 40.3% from 3-point range and 89.9% from the free-throw line.
Shippensburg went 24-7, finished as runner-up at the PSAC tournament and was installed as the fourth seed in the Atlantic Region before the NCAA Division II tournament was shut down because of coronavirus.
Biss was also named PSAC Eastern Division player of the year and was chosen for the National Association of Basketball Coaches all-district team and Conference Commissioners Association first team for the Atlantic Region.
Biss is a finance major with a 3.49 grade-point average.
