Latrobe graduate Biss earns PSAC East honor

Shippensburg point guard Jake Biss scored a career-high 30 points against East Stroudsburg.

For the second time this season, Shippensburg sophomore point guard Jake Biss, a 2017 Latrobe graduate, earned Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Eastern Division Men’s Basketball Player of the Week honors.

Biss averaged 23.5 points as he helped the Raiders to victories against Millersville and Lock Haven.

He scored 24 points against Millersville and was 9 for 9 from the foul line.

Biss was 7 of 11 from beyond the 3-point line and a perfect 10 for 10 at the free-throw line.

He scored a game-high 23 points in just 25 minutes, shooting 9 of 12 from the field, including a career-best 4 of 4 from 3-point range. He added three assists and two rebounds.

Biss has scored at least 23 points in three consecutive games.

It is the second PSAC East Athlete of the Week award for Biss this season. He also was named on Jan. 7.

Shippensburg is 19-6 overall and 13-4 in the conference. Biss is averaging 14.4 points.
