League champion Riverhounds set date for next season's home opener

The Pittsburgh Riverhounds will begin defense of their USL Championship title on the road in March.

The Riverhounds, who won the club’s first league championship last month, will open Saturday, March 7 on the road against the Charleston Battery. The team’s second game will also be on the road, Saturday, March 28 at the Tampa Bay Rowdies.

The club’s home opener will take place Saturday, March 28 against Sportling Club Jacksonville at Highmark Stadium, a new team in the USL championship.

It will be the first home game since the Riverhounds beat Rhode Island in the Eastern Conference final last month.

Match times, single-game ticket information and the rest of the schedule, including US Open Cup fixtures, will be released at a later date. Season tickets and multi-game ticket packages are currently on sale.
