Levi Wallace returns to practice, but Steelers missing 2 other corners as they prep to play Saints
While two veteran cornerbacks didn’t practice Wednesday for the Pittsburgh Steelers, another was a full participant and could return for the team’s game Sunday against the New Orleans Saints.
Levi Wallace, who did not play in the Steelers’ 35-13 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Oct. 13 because of a shoulder injury, practiced Wednesday as the Steelers began on-field preparations for their return from the bye week.
Wallace’s return was the good news for the Steelers. The bad was Ahkello Witherspoon (hamstring) and William Jackson III (back), acquired last week from the Washington Commanders, did not participate. Witherspoon aggravated an injury that kept him out of the lineup for four games in the first half of the season. Jackson was bothered by a back injury prior to joining the Steelers, although he did take part in a practice last week before players received a four-day break.
On a day the Steelers added kicker Matthew Wright to the 53-man roster, Chris Boswell did not practice because of a groin injury. He could miss his second consecutive game because of the injury. Another of the team’s specialists, long snapper Christian Kuntz, was a full practice participant. He was listed on the injury report with a rib injury.
Linebacker Myles Jack was an addition to the injury report with a knee injury. He did not practice Wednesday. Defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi also didn’t practice because of a knee injury, but he told reporters he expects to suit up against the Saints. Kuntz also said he expects to play.
