The final top quarterback prospect from this year’s draft class visited with the Pittsburgh Steelers on Wednesday.

Malik Willis, who could be the first quarterback selected in the draft when it begins April 28, conducted a top-30 visit at the UMPC Rooney Sports Complex. Wednesday is the final day that teams can receive visits from draft-eligible players.

In the wake of Ben Roethlisberger’s retirement, the Steelers are contemplating taking a quarterback in the first round.

Willis was a two-year starter at Liberty following his transfer from Auburn. In 2021, he completed 61.1% of his passes for 2,857 yards, 27 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. He also had a team-high 878 yards rushing and scored 13 additional touchdowns. He was named the LendingTree Bowl MVP after passing for 231 yards, three touchdowns and rushing for 58 yards and two scores in a victory against Eastern Michigan.

Other top quarterback prospects to visit the Steelers include Pitt’s Kenny Pickett, Mississippi’s Matt Corral, North Carolina’s Sam Howell and Cincinnati’s Desmond Ridder. The Steelers also visited with Nevada’s Carson Strong and South Dakota State’s Chris Oladokun, who are considered lower-round prospects.
