Until there is a more permanent situation, Saint Vincent will use an all-hands-on-deck approach to oversee and operate its athletic department heading into the summer months and possibly beyond.

The leadership of sports at the Unity college, at least temporarily, will be in the hands of several coaches, SVC president Father Paul R. Taylor, O.S.B., announced.

Athletic director Father Myron Kirsch, O.S.B., retired in April, so the plan while the school conducts a search for his replacement will include the following coaches taking over the following positions:

• Men’s basketball coach D.P. Harris will be the interim athletic director.

• Sue Hozak, the college’s associate athletic director and senior women’s administrator, as well as the Bearcats’ women’s volleyball coach since 1985, will be the deputy athletic director.

Hozak also is the department’s head compliance officer.

• Softball coach Nicole Karr will serve as the assistant athletic director for facilities and internal operations.

• Women’s basketball coach Jimmy Petruska will be the assistant athletic director for leadership development.
