MOUNT HOLLY, N.J. — A man has been convicted of passion provocation manslaughter in the stabbing death of another man after a fight in New Jersey during celebrations over the Philadelphia Eagles’ victory in the Super Bowl last year.
The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that jurors acquitted 57-year-old Supreme Life of murder Friday after six hours of deliberation. They also convicted the Lumberton resident of attempted murder in the stabbing of another man.
Life testified that the fight started after a remark by his son about the Eagles in February 2018. He said he stabbed 26-year-old Moriah Walker, of Brooklyn, N.Y., in self-defense.
His son, 33-year-old Antoine Ketler, was acquitted of attempted murder after his attorney argued that he only took part in the fistfight.
Life is to be sentenced in May.
