The local fan reaction to Heinz Field’s name change to Acrisure Stadium isn’t exactly positive. It’s not going as badly as if the naming rights were acquired by Hunt’s Ketchup … but it’s close.
WDVE-FM host Chad Tyson offered advice on pronunciation that a lot of Pittsburghers are probably going to end up taking.

That sentiment was retweeted by someone who’s no stranger to the stadium, Steelers offensive lineman Kevin Dotson.
Former Steelers offensive guard Trai Essex will be able to adjust to the new name, but he said it might take some time.
Acrisure Stadium?!!! It’s going to take a longgggggg time to get used to that. If ever..— Trai Essex (@TraiDay79) July 11, 2022
Pittsburgh comedian Davon Magwood isn’t interested in the name change.
Nah that’s Heinz field buddy. https://t.co/oViyzwabw8— Davon (@davonmagwood) July 11, 2022
Neither was WXDX-FM program director and midday host Abby Krizner.

For KISS-FM “Morning Freak Show” host Mikey (real name Michael Dougherty), it’s not a big deal. He said Pittsburghers will do what Pittsburghers have always done.
also, this isn't a big deal at all. we're all going to live. we're all going to be fine. we're all going to call it Heinz Field forever like we've done with Star Lake.— Mikey (@fsmikey) July 11, 2022
Writer Virginia Montanez had a similar thought, wishing Acrisure good luck with getting people to use their name with the stadium.
Lol as if anyone in Pittsburgh will call Heinz Field anything other than Heinz Field no matter what they tell us the new name of it is.You get one chance to name a building in this city and then it is FOREVER.

Ashley Nicole Moss, a host for SI Now, won’t be using the new name.
his mama named him Heinz Field, i’ma call him Heinz Field https://t.co/QJha0MMs89— Ashley Nicole Moss (@AshNicoleMoss) July 11, 2022
JJ Zachariason, host of the Late-Round Fantasy Football podcast and a University of Pittsburgh alum, compared the move — unfavorably — to replacing Steve Carell with James Spader on “The Office.”

And if only Turner’s Ice Tea had “a bazillion dollars,” we might be looking at a different outcome.

Or if the Steelers had been willing/interested in being paid in meat, the Slawdome at Three Rivers could have been a possibility.
Breaking: Primanti Bros. offering payment in grilled meats for naming rights to stadium. All meat. No cash. Open to negotiate for slaw, too. We think it’s a good deal. #PrimantiBrosField ????????— Primanti Bros (@primantibros) July 11, 2022
