Heinz Field sits on Pittsburgh’s North Shore as seen on Monday, July 11, 2022.

The local fan reaction to Heinz Field’s name change to Acrisure Stadium isn’t exactly positive. It’s not going as badly as if the naming rights were acquired by Hunt’s Ketchup … but it’s close.

WDVE-FM host Chad Tyson offered advice on pronunciation that a lot of Pittsburghers are probably going to end up taking.

That sentiment was retweeted by someone who’s no stranger to the stadium, Steelers offensive lineman Kevin Dotson.

Former Steelers offensive guard Trai Essex will be able to adjust to the new name, but he said it might take some time.

Pittsburgh comedian Davon Magwood isn’t interested in the name change.

Neither was WXDX-FM program director and midday host Abby Krizner.

For KISS-FM “Morning Freak Show” host Mikey (real name Michael Dougherty), it’s not a big deal. He said Pittsburghers will do what Pittsburghers have always done.

Writer Virginia Montanez had a similar thought, wishing Acrisure good luck with getting people to use their name with the stadium.

Ashley Nicole Moss, a host for SI Now, won’t be using the new name.

JJ Zachariason, host of the Late-Round Fantasy Football podcast and a University of Pittsburgh alum, compared the move — unfavorably — to replacing Steve Carell with James Spader on “The Office.”

And if only Turner’s Ice Tea had “a bazillion dollars,” we might be looking at a different outcome.

Or if the Steelers had been willing/interested in being paid in meat, the Slawdome at Three Rivers could have been a possibility.
