Marc-Andre Fleury's return skyrockets Penguins preseason ticket prices
Penguins tickets are in high demand — but not for the regular season.
The draw? The return of beloved former goalie Marc-Andre Fleury.
On Friday, the Penguins announced they signed Fleury, 40, one of the most beloved figures in franchise history, to a professional tryout contract.
He formally retired after last season. Fleury is scheduled to practice with the Penguins Sept. 26 and participate in the Sept. 27 preseason game. This way, Fleury will be able to retire with the Penguins.
To attend the preseason game against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Sept. 27 at PPG Paints Arena, tickets are starting at $235 and ranging up to $2,975 a pop on Ticketmaster.
Tickets for all other preseason games start in the $20 to $25 range, according to the ticket purchasing site — including the Sept. 26 game the night before against the Detroit Red Wings.
