Steelers running back Jaylen Samuels pulls in a pass over the Seahawks’ Mychal Kendricks in the second quarter Sunday, Sept. 15, 2019 at Heinz Field.

Going through a full practice week increased the optimism that running back Jaylen Samuels would return from a one-game absence following a knee scope earlier this month, but the Pittsburgh Steelers running back is not in uniform for Monday night’s game against the Miami Dolphins at Heinz Field.

Another player that was listed as questionable on the team’s official injury report, linebacker Mark Barron, will play. Barron had missed the Steelers’ most recent game Oct. 13 at the Los Angeles Chargers because of a hamstring injury.

It had been announced Saturday that cornerback Steve Nelson and receiver James Washington each were going to return to game action after missing one game because of groin and shoulder injuries, respectively.

Rookie linebacker Ulysees Gilbert joins Samuels as players not in uniform against the Dolphins because of injury.

Special teamer and fullback Roosevelt Nix is in uniform for the first time since the season opener, after which he had knee surgery.

Cornerbacks Joe Haden (groin) and Mike Hilton (calf) and linebacker T.J. Watt (abdomen) were also known to be able to play against the Dolphins after each had left the Steelers’ most recent game, Oct. 13 at the Los Angeles Chargers.

Healthy incactives include quarterback Paxton Lynch, offensive lineman Chuks Okorafor, cornerback Justin Layne, tight end Zach Gentry and defensive lineman L.T. Walton.
