Maryland offensive lineman Marcus Minor (72) screams as he takes a tunnel to the field before a 2018 game against Texas.

Offensive lineman Marcus Minor, who verbally committed to Pitt last week, officially joined the team Tuesday when he signed his scholarship papers.

Minor, who played the past four seasons at Maryland, will participate in spring drills with two years of immediate eligibility.

Minor, 6-foot-4, 310 pounds, started 17 games at Maryland, playing guard and tackle. In high school at DeMatha Catholic, he earned all-state honors in Maryland and league honors in the All-Washington Catholic Athletic Conference.

He was ranked by Rivals.com the sixth overall prospect in Maryland and the 26th offensive tackle in the nation among the class of 2017. Minor was recruited to Maryland by Pitt offensive line coach Dave Borbely when he was on the Terrapins’ staff.

“Marcus is not only big, but also very athletic and has great feet,” coach Pat Narduzzi said in a statement. “He arrives at Pitt with a lot of playing experience already under his belt. We’re looking forward to working with him this spring.”
