EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — The injury-ravaged Pittsburgh Steelers season saw another spate of injuries to significant players Sunday.

Pro Bowl center Maurkice Pouncey, starting running back James Conner and quarterback Mason Rudolph left the Steelers’ 16-10 loss at the New York Jets and did not return. Coach Mike Tomlin, as he is wont to do, gave vague overviews of the severity of those injuries, saying Pouncey (knee) and Rudolph (left shoulder) were being evaluated after the game.

Conner (quad) was knocked out in the first half. Tomlin did not offer any specifics.

Pouncey was carted off after suffering his injury in the third quarter, but he was walking in the locker room after the game and pulling his suitcase on the way out of MetLife Stadium. There was no visible brace or apparatus on either leg, and he did not have an obvious limp.

Rudolph was in clear pain, wincing with every step as he walked and moved gingerly in the locker room.

Neither player, nor Conner, was made available to media.

Defensive lineman Cameron Heyward also left the game because of an elbow injury, but he finished the game and did not seem hindered by it afterward.

Receiver James Washington was limping and had a sizable ice pack on his left ankle after the game, but neither he nor Tomlin referenced any injury.
