Amid reports he is unhappy with his role on the team, outside linebacker Melvin Ingram was a limited participant at Pittsburgh Steelers practice Thursday.
Ingram was listed on the injury report with a groin injury for the second consecutive day. Ingram was not cited by coach Mike Tomlin as dealing with an injury after the Oct. 17 win against the Seattle Seahawks or during Tomlin’s weekly news conference Tuesday.
Over the weekend, the NFL Network reported Ingram was a potential trade target by other teams. On Thursday, the network doubled down, terming the Ingram situation as him “want(ing) out of Pittsburgh after seeing a reduction in his playing time.”
Also limited at practice Thursday was veteran tight end Eric Ebron with a hamstring injury.
Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger (pectoral/hip), receiver Chase Claypool (hamstring), running back Anthony McFarland (knee) and offensive tackle Zach Banner (knee) were full participants.
McFarland and Banner have recently been activated off the injured reserve list and likely will make their season debuts Sunday against the Cleveland Browns.
