Mid-Season Championships take center stage Friday at Lernerville Speedway
There will be a lot on the line at Lernerville Speedway on Friday evening as the Fab4 Revved Up with Marburger Farm Dairy lineup — featuring the Peoples Natural Gas Sprints, Precise Racing Products Late Models, Diehl Automotive Big Block Modifieds, and the Millerstown Pic-A-Part Pro Stocks — will have racers going after guaranteed starting spots for their division’s premier races throughout the rest of the 2022 season.
Friday’s Mid-Season Championships is the lead-in to next week’s Firecracker 100 during the biggest race weekend of the year at Lernerville. A record $50,000 goes to the winner.
A.J. Flick has won two straight Fab4 Peoples Sprint features with a $3,000 Western PA Sprint Speedweek win sandwiched in between. Last week’s victory gives Flick four total wins at Lernerville in 2022 and has given him a 20-point edge over Sye Lynch.
The winner Friday earns the guaranteed starting spot in the Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup XXXI on July 6.
John Garvin got his first Lernerville win since 2013 last week, propelling him into the Precise Late Models championship points lead. This week’s winner will get an automatic starting spot in Firecracker 100.
A guaranteed starting spot for the BRP Modified Tour event during the 14th Annual Steel City Stampede is on the line for the Diehl Modifieds as Jeremiah Shingledecker continues to top the championship standings, with Brad Rapp still only 11 points behind.
Tyler Dietz is still in command of the Millerstown Pro Stocks points lead and will be gunning for the guaranteed starting spot for the Penn/Ohio Pro Stock Championship Series event Aug. 5. Todd Weldon is in second, 14 points behind Dietz.
Pit gates for Friday’s races open at 4 p.m., with grandstand gates opening at 5. Hot laps are to begin at 6:50, and racing starts at 7:30.
Youth 10 and younger are admitted free with $15 general admission for ages 11 and older. Pit passes are $30.
All the action will be livestreamed on Lernerville.TV. The pre-race show goes live at approximately 6:30 to preview the night’s racing. Some of the stars will be on to talk about the evening’s action.
