For a team beset by injuries for most of the season, it was a positive for the Pittsburgh Steelers that they came out of their game Sunday in Cincinnati without adding to their already expansive total.

Coach Mike Tomlin said that aside from normal “bumps and bruises,” the Steelers did not incur any additions to the team’s injury report heading into their game this weekend against the Cleveland Browns.

Tomlin offered little update on two offensive starters — wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster and running back James Conner — who sat out the Bengals game with injuries. Backup cornerback Artie Burns also did not play with a knee injury.

“I don’t know what their status will be as a I stand here,” Tomlin said Tuesday. “We’ll go through our normal procedures.”

When assessing Smith-Schuster, Tomlin referred to the knee injury the wide receiver sustained against the Cleveland Browns on Nov. 14. Tomlin did not mention the concussion that knocked Smith-Schuster out of the game in the second quarter.

A Steelers spokesman, however, said Smith-Schuster remains in concussion protocol.

Conner has a shoulder injury that has kept him out of three of the past four games.
