Milene Mazeroski, wife of Pirates legend Bill Mazeroski, dies
Milene Mazeroski, wife of legendary Pittsburgh Pirates second baseman Bill Mazeroski, has died.
Milene, 85, died early Sunday morning in Lansdale, Pa., according to the Pirates.
Milene was born in Braddock.
She was married to Bill, 87, for 64 years. They met while she worked in the Pirates front office during Bill’s early days.
The couple settled in Greensburg, where they lived in the same house for almost 60 years, according to her obituary. They moved to Lansdale in 2019.
The Mazeroskis have two sons, Darren, of Panama City, Fla., and David, of Souderton, Pa.; and four grandchildren — Billy, Sara, Tommy and Jack.
“We are deeply saddened to learn of Milene’s passing,” Pirates owner Bob Nutting said in a statement. “A devoted wife and loving mother, she was and will forever be a part of our Pirates family. It is with heavy hearts that we send our condolences to Bill, Darren, David and the entire Mazeroski family.”

A funeral Mass for Milene Mazeroski will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 1601 Hatfield, Pa. Friends may greet the family from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.
Arrangements are being handled by R.L. Williams Funeral Home.
