Amid one of his best stretches of basketball at Eastern Michigan, 6-foot-9 forward Elijah Minnie received recognition from the Mid-American Conference.
A redshirt senior from Monessen, Minnie was named MAC West Division co-athlete of the week.
Minnie, who shares the honor with Eugene German of Northern Illinois, had two big games last week. He scored a team-high 25 points, including 6 of 8 3-pointers, and also grabbed seven rebounds as the Eagles edged past Ball State in double overtime, 84-82.
He followed that performance with 22 points (5 3-pointers) and eight rebounds in a 95-61 victory over Kent State. He is averaging 22.7 points against MAC competition for the Eagles (8-8, 2-1).
Eastern Michigan will be on ESPNU Friday night against Buffalo.
Minnie transferred to EMU from Robert Morris.
