Minor league report: Adam Smith’s overtime goal leads Nailers past Komets

Defenseman Adam Smith scored an overtime goal and recorded an assist for the Wheeling Nailers in a 6-5 comeback road win against the Fort Wayne Komets at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne, Ind. on Friday.

Forward Justin Addamo hat a hat trick and an assist for Wheeling (8-8) while defenseman Davis Bunz contributed two assists. Goaltender Taylor Gauthier made 35 saves on 40 shots in the victory.

Highlights:

The Nailers’ next game is a home contest against the Komets on Saturday, 7:10 p.m.
