Minor league report: Alex Nylander records two assists in Penguins debut

Forward Alex Nylander, acquired via trade on Wednesday, recorded two assists in his debut for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton who lost on the road in a shootout to the Utica Comets, 6-5, at the Utica Memorial Auditorium in Utica, N.Y., on Friday.

Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (9-12-1-3) also got two regulation goals and an assist from forward Valtteri Puustinen while defenseman Cam Lee recorded two assists. Goaltender Tommy Nappier made 27 saves on 32 shots in regulation and overtime as the Penguins’ losing streak reached five games.

Highlights:

The Penguins’ next game is a road contest against the rival Hershey Bears on Saturday, 7 p.m.

Goaltender Stefanos Lekkas made 32 saves on 34 shots for the Wheeling Nailers in a 5-1 road loss to the Indy Fuel at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum in Indianapolis.

Forward Patrick Watling scored the only goal for Wheeling (15-11-1-0).

Highlights:

The Nailers’ next game is a home game against the Fuel on Saturday, 7:10 p.m.
