Minor league report: Andrew Agozzino leads Penguins past Thunderbirds

Two goals by forward Andrew Agozzino led the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins to a 4-1 home win against the Springfield Falcons at Mohegan Sun Arena in Wilkes-Barre on Friday.

Forward Sam Miletic had two assists for the Penguins (9-5-1-1) while defenseman Kevin Czuczman and forward Ryan Haggerty each also scored goals. Goaltender Casey DeSmith made 41 saves in the victory which was Wilkes-Barre/Scranton’s fourth consecutive.

The Penguins’ next game is at home Saturday against the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, 7:05 p.m.

Goaltender Alex D’Orio made 22 saves for the Wheeling Nailers in a 2-1 home loss to the Utah Grizzlies at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling.

Forward Renars Krastenbergs scored the lone goal for the Nailers (5-5-1-0) off an assist from forward Jan Drozg.

Highlights:

Wheeling’s next game is on the road against the Reading Royals at Santaner Arena in Reading Saturday, 7 p.m.
