Minor league report: Defenseman Josh Maniscalco leads Nailers to overtime win

An overtime goal by defenseman Josh Maniscalco gave the Wheeling Nailers a 5-4 home win against the Fort Wayne Komets at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, W.Va., on Sunday.

The undrafted Maniscalco, in his second-year of an entry-level contract with the Penguins, scored his first two goals of the season while forward Felix Pare also scored two goals for Wheeling (5-4-0-0). Goaltender Louis-Philip Guindon made 27 saves on 31 shots in the victory.

The Nailers’ next game is a road contest against the Indy Fuel on Friday, 7 p.m.
