Minor league report: Di Pauli, Noesen each score two goals as Penguins beat Phantoms

Forwards Thomas Di Pauli and Stefan Noesen each scored two goals for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in a 6-2 home win against the rival Lehigh Valley Phantoms at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Wilkes-Barre on Wednesday.

Forward Adam Johnson added a goal and two assists for the Penguins (12-6-1-1) while forward Joseph Blandisi contributed a goal and an assist. Goaltender Casey DeSmith made 30 saves in the victory.

The Penguins’ next game is on the road against the Phantoms at the PPL Center in Allentown on Friday, 7:05 p.m.

Goaltender Alex D’Orio made 30 saves for the Wheeling Nailers in a 5-4 overtime loss at home to the Fort Wayne Komets at the WesBanco Arena in Wheeling.

Forward Alec Butcher recorded three assists for the Nailers (8-5-4-0) while defenseman Aaron Titcomb added two assists.

The Nailers’ next game is on the road against the Komets at Memorial Arena in Fort Wayne, Ind. on Thursday, 7:35 p.m.
