Minor league report: Drew O’Connor’s two goals leads Penguins past Bruins

Two goals by forward Drew O’Connor helped the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins claim a 3-1 road win against the Providence Bruins at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center in Providence, R.I. on Saturday.

Goaltender Louis Domingue made 42 saves on 43 shots for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (7-6-0-2) while forward Kyle Olson added a goal.

Highlights:

The Penguins’ next game is a road contest against the Charlotte Checkers on Tuesday, 7 p.m.

Goaltender Alex D’Orio made 30 saves on 33 shots for the Wheeling Nailers in a 3-2 road loss to the Fort Wayne Komets at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne.

Forwards Tyler Drevitch and Patrick Watling each scored goals for Wheeling (5-6-0-0).

The Nailers’ next game is a home game against the Indy Fuel on Wednesday, 7:10 p.m.
