Minor league report: Forward Sam Houde scores twice in Penguins' loss
Forward Sam Houde scored two goals for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in a 7-5 home loss to the rival Hershey Bears at Mohegan Sun Arena in Wilkes-Barre on Wednesday.
Defenseman Ty Smith and forward Valtteri Puustinen each recorded two assists for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (9-8-2-0) while forwards Jonathn Gruden, Joona Koppanen and Rem Pitlick each contributed goals.
Goaltender Magnus Hellberg was charged with the loss and his record fell to 1-3-0 after he made four saves on five shots in the third period. He replaced starter Joel Blomqvist, who was pulled after making 14 saves on 19 shots in the first two periods.

The Penguins’ next game is a road contest against the Springfield Thunderbirds on Friday, 7:05 p.m.
Goaltender Taylor Gauthier made 26 saves on 29 shots for the Wheeling Nailers in a 3-2 road loss to the Indy Fuel at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum in Indianapolis.
The result dropped Gauthier’s record to 4-4-0. Forwards Cédric Desruisseaux and David Jankowski each scored goals for Wheeling (8-8-0-0).
