Forward Tanner Howe scored his first professional goal for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in a 4-1 win against the rival Hershey Bears at Mohegan Arena in Wilkes-Barre on Wednesday.

Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (30-12-2-2) also got goals from forwards Avery Hayes, Aaron Huglen and Aidan McDonough as a winning streak reached three games.

Goaltender Sergei Murashov made 30 saves on 31 shots, improving his record to 17-5-0.

Highlights:

The Penguins’ next game is a road contest against the Lehigh Valley Phantoms on Friday, 7:05 p.m.

Defenseman Brent Johnson had an overtime goal and an assist for the Wheeling Nailers in a 3-2 win against the Fort Wayne Komets at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, W.Va.

Johnson’s goal came at 5:19 of overtime.

(Note: The ECHL has seven-minute overtime periods.)

Forwards Connor Lockhart and Matthew Quercia also scored goals for Wheeling (27-12-2-1), which snapped a season-worst five-game losing streak (0-3-1-1).

Goaltender Taylor Gauthier set a career-high with 53 saves on 55 shots, boosting his record to 8-4-2.
