Minor league report: Josh Maniscalco leads Nailers past Royals

A goal and an assist by defenseman Josh Maniscalco led the Wheeling Nailers to a 2-1 road win against the Reading Royals at Santander Arena in Reading on Friday.

Forward Carter Johnson recorded two assists for Wheeling (2-3-0-0) while goaltender Taylor Gauthier made 30 saves on 31 shots in the victory.

Highlights:

The Nailers’ next game is a road contest against the Royals on Saturday, 7 p.m.
