Minor league report: Matt Dumba debuts for Penguins in loss

Goaltender Joel Blomqvist made 29 saves on 31 shots for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in a 2-1 loss to the Charlotte Checkers at Mohegan Arena on Tuesday.

The result dropped Blomqvist’s record to 5-2-0.

Forward Philip Tomasino scored the lone goal for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (19-7-1-0).

Defenseman Matt Dumba made his debut for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins after being assigned by the Pittsburgh Penguins. Opening the contest on the right side of the first pairing, Dumba had two shots and two penalty minutes.

The Penguins’ next game is a road contest against the Utica Comets on Friday, 7 p.m.
