Minor league report: Nailers beat Lions for 5th consecutive win

A pair of goals by forward Craig Armstrong led the Wheeling Nailers to a 4-2 win against the Trois-Rivières Lions at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, W.Va. on Sunday.

The result extended a winning streak to five games.

Forward Randy Hernandez had a goal and an assist for Wheeling (25-7-1-0) while defenseman Brent Johnson contributed two assists.

Goaltender Taylor Gauthier made 26 saves on 28 shots, improving his record to 6-1-0.

The Nailers’ next game is a road contest against the Norfolk Admirals on Friday, 7:05 p.m.
