Minor league report: Nailers beat Mariners in overtime

An overtime goal by forward Logan Pietila gave the Wheeling Nailers a 5-4 win against the Maine Mariners at Cross Insurance Arena in Portland, Maine on Sunday.

Forward Nolan Renwick had a goal and two assists for Wheeling (2-1-0-0) while forward Zach Gallant contributed a goal and an assist.

In his season debut, Nailers goaltender Jaxon Castor made 24 saves on 28 shots.

The Nailers’ next game is their home opener against the Norfolk Admirals on Saturday, 7:10 p.m.
