Minor league report: Nailers claim series with overtime win

An overtime goal by forward Matthew Querica gave the Wheeling Nailers a 3-2 series-clinching road win against the Fort Wayne Komets in Game 6 of a Central Division semifinal round at Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne, Ind. on Tuesday.

The Nailers won the series, 4-2.

Forward Sean Josling had a goal and an assist for Wheeling while goaltender Louis-Philip Guindon made 38 saves on 40 shots in the victory.

The Nailers now advance to the Central Division final and will face the Toledo Walleye.

The series schedule:

Game 1 – Friday, May 6, at Toledo, 7:35 p.m.

Game 2 – Saturday, May 7, at Toledo, 7:35 p.m.

Game 3 – Tuesday, May 10, at Wheeling, 7:10 p.m.

Game 3 – Thursday, May 12, at Wheeling, 7:10 p.m.

Game 5 – Saturday, May 14, at Wheeling, 7:10 (if necessary)

Game 6 – Monday, May 16, at Toledo, 7:35 p.m. (if necessary)

Game 7 – Sunday, May 17, at Toledo, 7:35 p.m. (if necessary)
