Minor league report: Nailers drop Game 3 to Mariners

Forwards Blake Bennett, Logan Pietila and Zach Urdahl each scored goals for the Wheeling Nailers, who lost to the Maine Mariners, 6-3, at the Cross Insurance Arena in Portland, Maine, in Game 3 of the North Division Final on Monday.

The Nailers lead the best-of-seven series, 2-1.

Nailers goaltender Taylor Gauthier started the contest and made 13 saves on 18 shots in 30:08 of ice time. He was charged with the loss as his postseason record fell to 6-2.

At 10:08 of the second period, Gauthier was replaced by Gabriel D’Aigle, who made 11 saves on 12 shots over 29:11 of ice time.

Highlights:

Game 4 of the series is scheduled for Tuesday, 7 p.m. at Maine.
